Future of UO

I have returned to UO after about a year with a new account (lack of time
and finances being responsible for me leaving). Some may remember me banging
on about male players with female chars a couple of years back, and the
funny hair deed story? Anyway, I have been taking my male warrior Ronas
through the induction missions, and been back in the Britain graveyard on
Europa, killing wraiths - it's good to be back. Unfortunately I have had to
buy a copy of Lord Blackthorn's Revenge; one recent poster was asking where
you could get a copy of Age of Shadows here in the UK. I have tried all the
online sites one reply mentioned, as well as various shops. No luck
whatsoever. A friend who runs my local indie software store says he cannot
buy it in, either - only LBR. This leaves me wondering if Origin are
planning a new expanded version of the CD soon? Hopefully - I want to get a
Paladin and go to Malas... Then of course there is UXO. With the release of
this imminent, are we going to see an eventual exodus of UO players? I hope
not. The graphics look great, but I get the impression it is going to be a
bit of a system hog. Also, have Origin taken the forums off uo.com? Couldn't
find them... Anyway, must get back to the graveyard...

Shaun.

Always good to have old friends come back!

The links on Stratics are:

and

Some say this is a demo, However I am running on this just fine. AFAIK it is
the 'CODE' that they give you agter the download that is the Trial. The
software is the full AOS load. FYI, you DO still have to buy an upgrade to
your account to get to Malas etc. Also I hope you have a fast internet
connection. Took me 3 1/2 days to download this 623Mb

YES! It will have 2 new char classes, a new land (NOT useable for housing
AFAIK), new stuff for custom housing, and of course lots of play tweeks.
This expansion will be an Aisian Flavor so.....

Someone else here can probably confirm, but I do believe that they lost most
or all of their UOX team when they forced everyone to move to Calli.... This
game is prob going onto the backburner for a bit until they can get a team
assembled for it. Additionally, it's not the same so I really don't think we
are looking at an UltimaOnline Killer here. From what I've seen it is going
to have a completely different 'feel' to it.

Yes, they found that hosting Forums can be a bit of a pain in the ass :)
They do mention this @ www.uo.com but I had to dig for a second. They still
have pages that reference these forums, but they don't exist there any more.
I think (Guessing... Bad memory...) they moved everything to Stratics for
this. If you hunt around on uo.com they do mention it.

Don't even bother with this. Graveyard bleh. Noobie? bleh. Since you have
a new account I assume you still have 'young' status still atop your head.
Make a female toon like WindsorFox[SS] did here. Run around britain bank
and ask common questios like how do you recall, make scrolls, carve hide,
etc. Eventually you will run into nice veteran players who are more then
willing to help you out.

Using WindsorFox[SS] advice. I have accumulated over 7 million gold in just
under 2 weeks!

Just in case you missed his step by step guide to scamming. If you are
still confused after reading this, send him an email like I did.

Thanks for the links, tried both - no luck. The Gamespot page does not have
the download listed, just a trailer, while I have tried the Gigex download
several times, but their poxy Download Dashboard doesn't seem to work for me
(why can't I just save the file to my hard drive normally without some
stupid download manager?)

Sounds good - any idea when it will be released?

Ah... I'm not going mad then. Thanks.

Troll is being generous. This dweebe can't let something that nobody
else even batted an eye at drop. He's so hopelessly pathetic he can't
even see that nobody cares what he is saying.

Are you making any good armor? Apparently I have Seven million
gold to sped and I need some good armor to fight Deamons. Maybe a few
repairs....
