Hello! I am currently planning on progressively upgrading my PC setup in order to, at some point, have a good 4k gaming device

Current parts (whole setup)
CQ27G2 monitor with a cheap side monitor
Red Devil 6700xt
Ryzen 5600x
A 1-fan Cooler master air cooler
1TB SSD
16gb 3200MHz RAM
ROG Strix b550-f
Fractal north white with glass side panel
Razer barracuda white headphones
Glorious model O with a glorious mousepad
Glorious GMMK 2
A generic black "podcast" microphone

My upgrades are listed in chronological order and will likely take course of two years
Dell G3223Q monitor (still keeping the old 2k monitor, just as a vertical one)
LAGKAPTEN / ALEX desk
Some Art3D backplates
Stream Deck
Samsung SSD 990 Pro 2tb
Best GPU that is out at the time (4090 adjacent)
Best gaming processor that is out at the time
Undetermined motherboard (I want to have PCIE 5 but very little good AM5 and none of the future intel socket motherboards support it right now, so I haven't decided)
Water cooling -
-Corsair hydro X series XR5 360mm
-three ML120 PRO LED White 120mm
-EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM (incl. pump)
-RTX 5090 white cooling block
-EK-Quantum Velocity² D-RGB - AM5 White Edition
-Good tubing, and fittings
-whatever coolant

I've done a lot of research and I just want to ask if anyone has any suggestions, and if I over- or under-valuing any components. I know I'm planning this very far ahead of time, but the impact for me is now. Thank you!
Also, I tried to put the items that won't really ever require upgrading over time first.

The future of PC parts is unknowable.

Especially in the context of "two years".
Yes, I'm not asking for that. I'm just asking for advice on my current lineup of parts that are avalible that will support the next generation

Your best bet is to just save up until you have enough to build such a system from the start. You will never be satisfied trying to piecemeal a system. To be honest none of the so called upgrades, other than a CPU and GPU will do anything for your gaming performance. 990 pro won't improve your gaming performance at all, and is overpriced. There would be absolutely no noticeable difference, between it an say a $50 cheaper WD SN850x. Gen 5 PCI-E will do nothing either. A 4090 only loses like 2-3% on gen 3, so a 5090 is not in any way going to saturate a gen 4 x16 lane slot. Not sure where you think none of the future Intel boards will support gen 5, when there are current gen boards that do. Any AMD B650e or x670e also supports gen 5.
