Future proof(4 years) graphics card?

Hey all, so I have decided to go with a gaming pc over a workstation. I am planning on buying the gtx 780 for my build. The games that I will mostly be playing will be open world games like skyrim, fallout: new vegas, etc, as well as first person shooters like battlefield 4, call of duty, titanfall, etc. I am only planning to play on one screen at 1080p, minimum 80 fps for the next 3 to 4 years. Will this gtx 780 last me that long while playing at max settings at 1080p? I have read that graphics cards tend to struggle after 2 years but considering I am keeping the resolution at a steady 1080p, no higher, it would be able to handle the latest games for 3 to 4 years with no problem. On the side, in your opinions do you believe this graphics card will be able to handle Fallout 4, and The Elder Scrolls 6(not Elder scrolls online but the actual next installment of the franchise) at 80+ fps? Also do more CUDA cores matter at my resolution/set up? Thank you in advance for your insights.

No such thing as future proofing.

Do you realize that a single 780 will barely get around 60 FPS average (using BF4 as a reference point) at 1080p on maxed settings?

If you add another 780, you -might- get an average of 80 fps for the next year or so on max settings.

this would be more than future proof but the moores law most electrnics will double in power for their size avery 18 moths so while it will be great in 3 years it will still play the games very well but it will be mostly outdated. but thats why you build a pc so you can upgrade it.

That is certainly a good gaming pc. The card GTX 780 will certainly give you 1080p in gaming. It will easily last 2 years if you take proper care of it. After 2 years it is not a guarantee, you might have to come below 1080p cause very graphic intensive games are being developed, for example Watch Dogs.

i would have to agree another game that will be pushing the limits is Star Citizen with mmo in space with cry engine its pretty intensive
