Hi there people of earth

at the moment i only have a 2x2GB DDR3 which is really low considering that most games now need 8GB, the problem is ... i wil be upgrading to intel's skylake upcoming series in a few months and i really don't wanna buy a second set of memories when it's out, so I'm looking for something that can work with skylake in the future.

i did my "research" and found out that skylake will only support DDR3L 1600 and DDR4, and we can't simply take a normal DDR3 that has a low voltage and use it because they are not the same thing, in the beginning i was a bit unsure and i thought that these are just rumors but now crosair released a new product series that has the title "intel 6th generation support" and they are all DDR3Ls with 1600mhz clock, so the question is .. do i really need those? is this information correct? because i don't think they are going to be available for at least a month and honestly i don't wanna go through the process of shipping a stick of ram to Egypt and it would be nice to have the 8GB memory since i have everything ready beside the RAM; and if i do get them will they work with my current to-be-thrown-away-after-skylake motherboard?

my processor is : AMD phenom II x4 955
motherboard: gigabyte GA-970a-D3P

thanks in advance and i apologize for my horrible English

I'd wait for Skylake and go DDR4, you might have trouble even trying to run 1600 sticks with your 955, the 965 was the first that could reliably run 1600
