Hey everybody,
So the day has come - my 10 year old custom built baby died. Not going to get into too many logistics but it flashes power to all systems for a half second then turns off, subsequently is unresponsive unless I unplug and plug it back in. I could go through the process of getting it up and running again with replacement parts etc. but at this point the tech is a bit outdated.
That being said, I'm looking for a prebuilt computer that can handle the following needs: VR ready that requires little to no upgrades over the next 3 years, upgrade-able for future tech (eventually I have no problem getting some more power in the puppy to switch to computer gaming) and the newer raytracing/gpu tech (simply to treat myself).
For background I use it for everything and connect it directly to my TV. I have a 4K TV that i use to play movies, tv, games (although it's terrible for games and because of that tend to play things like Civ V) etc. through the computer. I do work on the TV via my computer and use a bunch of programs (although not many are high render/design oriented just basic programs that i always leave open). I also game on it a little, but honestly my TV isn't the greatest for gaming anyway. Eventually I'll get a newer TV that works better for gaming (and possibly a separate monitor) and other items but for now it'll do. I also have read posts about types of liquid cooling options and would like a suggestion based on a closed-loop system, as i don't want to drain it out every year or 2. Price is not necessarily an option, but based on my current needs and future upgrade plans I've anticipated that I like the idea of paying anywhere from 1000-1600 (I want to treat myself while also leaving room for future upgrades). The main concern i have is avoiding getting a motherboard that's not future proof, or have a missguided approach to what i actually want to buy. AND YES, I UNDERSTAND THAT BUILDING IT MYSELF WOULD PROBABLY GIVE ME THE BEST RESULTS, BUT I'M REALLY LOOKING FOR A SOLID PRODUCT THAT I CAN ADD SOME CUSTOM TOUCHES TO OVER THE YEARS. I am also open to other companies, but would like more of a consensus on that.
PLEASE HELP, AS I REALLY NEED TO GET THIS BOUGHT TODAY TO GET BACK INTO A GOOD WORKFLOW AND NOT HAVE TO USE MY CRAPPY LAPTOP
