Hey everybody,

So the day has come - my 10 year old custom built baby died. Not going to get into too many logistics but it flashes power to all systems for a half second then turns off, subsequently is unresponsive unless I unplug and plug it back in. I could go through the process of getting it up and running again with replacement parts etc. but at this point the tech is a bit outdated.

That being said, I'm looking for a prebuilt computer that can handle the following needs: VR ready that requires little to no upgrades over the next 3 years, upgrade-able for future tech (eventually I have no problem getting some more power in the puppy to switch to computer gaming) and the newer raytracing/gpu tech (simply to treat myself).

For background I use it for everything and connect it directly to my TV. I have a 4K TV that i use to play movies, tv, games (although it's terrible for games and because of that tend to play things like Civ V) etc. through the computer. I do work on the TV via my computer and use a bunch of programs (although not many are high render/design oriented just basic programs that i always leave open). I also game on it a little, but honestly my TV isn't the greatest for gaming anyway. Eventually I'll get a newer TV that works better for gaming (and possibly a separate monitor) and other items but for now it'll do. I also have read posts about types of liquid cooling options and would like a suggestion based on a closed-loop system, as i don't want to drain it out every year or 2. Price is not necessarily an option, but based on my current needs and future upgrade plans I've anticipated that I like the idea of paying anywhere from 1000-1600 (I want to treat myself while also leaving room for future upgrades). The main concern i have is avoiding getting a motherboard that's not future proof, or have a missguided approach to what i actually want to buy. AND YES, I UNDERSTAND THAT BUILDING IT MYSELF WOULD PROBABLY GIVE ME THE BEST RESULTS, BUT I'M REALLY LOOKING FOR A SOLID PRODUCT THAT I CAN ADD SOME CUSTOM TOUCHES TO OVER THE YEARS. I am also open to other companies, but would like more of a consensus on that.

PLEASE HELP, AS I REALLY NEED TO GET THIS BOUGHT TODAY TO GET BACK INTO A GOOD WORKFLOW AND NOT HAVE TO USE MY CRAPPY LAPTOP

Well.... i'm looking for custom parts put together for me... not some Dell...
I'm just trying to steer you away from the abysmal quality of iBuyPower systems. We see that here nearly every day.
Poor quality parts, assembly mistakes that should have been caught by a 12 year old, incredibly bad warranty.

And during the ordering, you can customize a Dell just like any other.

If your near Massachusetts I'd build it for you for free as I enjoy doing so. As for getting the parts you should be able to get all of them from Microcenter/Best Buy in one day. Doing this will allow you to get better parts then you would in some junk prebuilt that's going to go with the bare min for the motherboard, PSU & memory.

I honestly could just build it myself. I do appreciate your spunk though lol I was kinda hoping their would be a pre-built option that goes over my needs in the original post. WITH THAT IN MIND, do you have a recommendation on parts?

I've also been looking for a pre-built and so far these guys have the best reviews and best prices I've seen - https://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/chaos-gaming-computer

The same parts I picked for mine come out around £50-80 more at PCSpecialist, among others. Having said that, I'm guessing you're from the US? In which case my recommendation would be a general one for others. I think you have it much better than we do at the moment as far as pricing goes!

There are good pre-built gaming computer options, just not from the cheap vendors like the one you were looking at. There are a ton of custom PC makers that are good, if you are willing to pay the extra cost. Origin PC, Falcon Northwest, Maingear, companies like those. Basically if its a prebuilt and you sort by price, you will get a low quality build and power supply. And I would go with a larger OEM like Dell or Lenovo before one of the cheap gaming PC companies like ibuypower.
