Fuzzy around the edges

Im looking to upgrad my video card to play some new games at higer lvls. I currently use a Asus 1440X900 monitor and if possible would like to move to HDMI 1080 tv BUT its not a must. Ive read alot of articles on ppl whom over do it with video cards in regards to the machine they currently have. Im just looking for some solid opinions on vid cards i have listed.

the hd7870 has the best bang for bucks......ultimate baaaannnngggg....!!
but the hd7950 is faster ,a little bit overpriced and is an overkill at that resolution...
the hd 7870 can manage ultra setting on every yame out there at ultra (1440*900 including AA)
prefer the powercolor version for a better build quality

Is the 2GB enough if im wanting to go to 1080? And yes and solid opinion helps especially when i dont have the answer. much appreciated.

yes....
2gbs of vram is more than enough.....
if you can have the 4gb version at not much higher cost, then go for it...
but if the difference in price is hefty, 2 gb version is still enough........

ONCE AGAIN i visited newegg. i think im leaning towards HIS IceQ H795QC3G2M Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit. Im willing to spend the money BUT still trying to make sure im not over doing what rest of machine can handle. SORRY for all the crap questions. How dose this card set for my machine with regards to games and FPS/quality? or is one of the other cards better?

for that resolution it'd be an overkill.....
if you want to experience the real raw power of a 7950, get a full hd screen......
but still if you can afford it, go for it.....
so that later on u'll have room for upgrading ur monitor......
so basically, get a 7950 if its in ur budget....
otherwise at that resolution, a 7870 will suffice...
try for the asus built cards....they offer the best build.....( all are good...though..)
