hi guys,

i have a dell latitude e7240, running windows 10 64 bit, when i try to turn the laptop on, this message appears "fw status recovery error" in the top left corner while the dell logo showing up at the same time. after that, the dell logo and the error message disappear, and the laptop works normally without a problem! please help to hide that error message because i tried to re-format the laptop and installing the latest version of bios but it doesn't work.

Solution
- First try upgrade your me firmware from here :https://www.dell.com/support/home/u...port/product/latitude-e7240-ultrabook/drivers
Look your windows version, under chipset you will see intel management engine components installer, pick the 2017 version : 11.7.0.1035 ,A00
install, if it says wrong version come back to this page and select older driver until you get it updated.

- Your cmos battery might have less than 2.8volts, buy new cmos battery (coin battery 3.3v) and replace on the motherboard, you can find disassembly video from youtube. After taking cmos battery out, wait 10-15mins before replacing with new to let cmos reset.

If this wont help then:

Its corrupt ME region in the bios...

If this wont help then:

Its corrupt ME region in the bios, flashing wont help. THis can give other issues too, only way is to completely disable intel me/amt ( you lose all this function) or flash bios with clean me region into the laptops bios chip with ch341a programmer.
