Greetings,

Recent commercials on History Channel advertise a new
series, "Decisive Battles". They use "nerdy toy soldiers" to do it.
But the second time I saw it I thought they might be flawless
miniatures. Anyone else seen this? Great closeups.

I seen the comercial but thought they meant doing away with the miniatures
and using computer graphics to make the miniatures???

That is what it is the demise of our hobby. No more waiting for the package of
lead or the book with the color plates. No more investment in craft items. Just
plug and play for the generation with no patience or talent.

Later in the comercial they clearly show computer graphics being used
to re-enact the battles. The "toy soldiers" are used in the
introduction. My impression was the show was by one director/producer
and the commercial was by another. I thought someone might've
recognised the maker/units, etc.

BTW, for those who haven't seen the commercial, I use phrases like,
"nerdy toy soldiers" because when they're seen they are handled like
boys would handle plastic toy soldiers; that is, holding them and
making them hop up and down while talking to each other.
