FX 4100 idling at 79°C

The title says much of it; the FX 4100 is on a GA-78LMT-S2P board with no graphics card. CPU temp was recorded by CPUID's HWMonitor. I took the CPU out of its socket and saw that the thermal compound did not fully cover the lettering on the CPU heat shield.
 
Solution
Try to re apply the cooler make sure you use new thermal paste.

Dont try to use the CPU when it is running above its safe operating temperature unless you want to cause permanent damage.

When i was using that CPU with a stock cooler it would run hot, but not that hot

Than that probably was the problem:) over time heat sinks can get full of dust

Make sure you re applied NEW thermal paste
