FX 4300 GTX 970 bottleneck fix?

I want to get a GTX 970 so that i won't have to upgrade my GPU for a few years, but i have an FX 4300 and i'm certain it will bottleneck my GTX 970, i almost have enough for a better CPU(along with the GTX 970). If i get the GTX 970, i can save and soon get a better CPU, but i was wondering if i underclocked the GTX 970, would it bottleneck as much? I've asked a few people and they said i could do that but i'm not sure if it would work, or if it would cause any other problems.

dont bother the performance (if its being bottalnecked) will be identical no matter what the clock is

Lower clock speeds does nothing to solve a bottleneck, you just need a better processor.

Just get a better CPU. But don't get a GTX 970. Get an R9 390. It is the same price, but performs better.

Run your games using DSR or 4k on settings that are not cpu intensive (high textures low LOD , draw distance ect. You will have to play around with them) At least you will be utilising your gtx 970 more until you upgrade cpu. But it's what ever you're into.
