Fx 4300 vs i3 2120

hi im wondering i will be doing a bit of gaming and i tiy bit of video editing and i want to overclock the fx 4300 and im getting this board http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=8045

i would go with a intel cpu because u have better processers in intel if u want to upgrade i want more perfomance than amd fx 8350 but i cant get any because there is no better cpu from amd so go with intel

I would go for AMD FX 6300 it is only 10$ expensiver than the AMD FX 4300 and it's better than the i3-3220. So it will be better than the i3-2120 in gaming and in multi-threaded apps which most are nowadays.

well get the 4300 and a good cooler, and overclock it , your gonna get some nice performance out of it if u do, 😉

thats an ok cpu cooler, it will do the job but will limit ur overclock compared to a hyper 212+evo

its decent but, u already have a decent mobo, whynot upgrade to an i5 instead? the stock performance is alot better than the fx.

with my motherboard is not a z77 motherboard and wanted to get a fx and overclocking motherboard and so i can overclock the fx 4300 or fx 4100 and i live in australia so the the i5 are pricey

It's very bad, NEVER buy a bulldozer CPU.

I don't know why you can't spend 10$ more on a CPU. It's your choice though FX 4300 is still a decent CPU.

tbh u wont be gaining huge performance gains in games on that 4300 but for multitasking and multi-threaded programs yes.

up to u dude , but id say save ur money for a quadcore i5-i7 or i guess get the 4300 if u can only afford that.

Keep your current board and get an i5 3570...

If it is within your budget, and since you have a 6950 as video card, this processor will do good for your BIT of gaming and it will do good too for video editing. Especially if it allows you to get 4 more Go of RAM. As one has suggested, the 6300, if 10$ more will make more difference with 2 more core compared to the 4300 for video editing.

Yea exactly hes saying he will buy a $90 motherboard with the 4300... the 4300 is about $130... so he has $220 to spend.. He should just get an i5...

final recommandation in my mind is get a new i5 like the 3570, best bang for ur bucks and will outperform that amd ur thinking about getting.
