FX 5800

Hi ,

I'm thinking buying a new video for my P4 1.9- 1 Go RAM to replace my
PNY 5800 non Ultra .I run FS 2004 , and do not want to put a lot of money
just for a new video .
I'm little lost , because of too many cards on the market .
What could be a good deal with better performance than FX 5800 ?

If you list your entire system in detail, then it will help a lot more. If
you are comfortable with selling some of your existing kit on eBay, then you
could go with a faster 800FSB CPU, 2x 512MB DDR400 RAM, and an FX5900. All
the Nvidia cards above that seem to be lacking in the value-for-money stakes
at the moment. I think you should upgrade your CPU and RAM first, as the
FX5800 is still a very good card. Wait until the 6800 is on shelves, and
maybe the FX5950 Ultra will come down to $200.

I just want to change my video for the moment , until buying a new system
..FX 5950 seems to be
a good deal , if the price comes down. In europe the price is still around
350-400 Euros.
On the other side , there are few 9800 Pro 128 Mo around 250 Euros.( MSI ,
GeXcube....)
There's a Sapphire 9800 Pro 128 , but 128 Bit memory ???
Never owned ATI cards , but they seem to give better results in High
Resolution with
AA and AF enabled with FS2004.
6800 non Ultra . There's a Gigabyte 128 MO for 349 Euros.But what about the
supply power ? 450 W as the 6800 Ultra ?
If the 6800 needs same power as my 5800 ( I think 350w ) , maybe yes , but
for the moment have no idea about the performance compare
to a 5950 or a 9800 PRO .
