Got a strange one: Got a new 270 with a 2001FP flat panel. Dropped my FX
5900 in it and I can't get a signal on DVI. VGA works fine, but DVI
connection results in "cannot display this output" type of error. Monitor is
capable of 1600 x 1200 at 60 Hertz. Tried 1024 x 768, 800 x 600 at 60 also,
no joy. Anyone got an idea?

Thanks,
Dave

For starters, card is AGP not PCI, right? What brand is the card? Secondly,
did you download the DirectX 9 runtime security update from the Windows
Update site recently?

Also, what OS are you running (including service packs)?

Heck, I can answer most of those :)

It's an nVidia and if he just got it, it's running XP SP1a, either Home or
more likely Pro, since it is an Optiplex. Definately AGP.

The 5900 is the Radeon 9800 Pro (or even XT) competitor, isn't it?

I've heard of this problem before, but can't, for the life of me, remember
the solution.

Thanks for the replies. It's an Asylum (nVidia) card, AGP 8x, actually
running on W2K SP3.

call tech support. your 2001 fp dvi connection might be jacked up. they
have a utility that can fix it.
