Hi! I'm wondering what a safe voltage is for the VRMs and the CPU.

I have the multiplier set to give me 4200MHz at 1.388 cpu voltage. Is that high for the board?

Also, the core voltage only gets to 1.328 (measured in CPUz) with p95, lower than what's set in BIOS. so is that safe?

Like if I shouldn't go over 1.35 and 1.4 is set in bios, but it only reaches 1.35, is it still good?

And apparently my mb has heatsinks on the VRMs which helps, so hopefully 1.388 is a safe voltage because then 4.2ghz is stable.

Thanks :)

Its not a bad board & for overclocking a 6 core is fine.

What youre seeing is vdroop under load .

If ypu can run a stable 100% stress test at those, settings its a non issue.

Generally though you should set a lower base voltage & up the llc level (load line calibration) in bios.

In essence though it doesnt really matter if you're stable.

Question from NateBeast : "FX 6200 & 970M Pro3 MB - CPU NB Voltage 1.3v safe?"

Title, basically. Default is 1.2 but I need 1.3 so that I can have NB clock from 2200mhz to 2400mhz.

Is this safe for my CPU and mobo? Will 200mhz make a big difference?

Thanks :)
