Im trying to get a stable overclock at 4.8GHz with my 6300, but when I crank it up to the clock rate, I in turn need a high enough voltage to boot windows. However, after running a test, like prime95, it freezes almost immediately. I currently have it extremely stable at 4.5GHz at about 1.45V. I went all the way up to 1.55V and still it wasnt stable. I went up and down and up and down, trying to find something stable and it just wont work. Please help me find a stable Clockrate/voltage for 4.8GHz.

P.S. I am OC using bios. I have an msi 970 gaming motherboard, specifically SLI krait edition.

Anything over 1.45V will be damaging to your CPU, but if you're going to upgrade soon then that's fine. Likewise, your mobo won't have adequate VRM heatsink to handle it but if it's just for temporary solution until Ryzen then go ahead.
One more thing for information. My BIOS is saying that my core voltage is waaaay lower than CPU-Z. I set my core voltage at 1.416 -1.424 on BIOS. Then, right now, in CPU-Z its saying 1.448V almost constant. This seems worrysome, and like I said earlier, I had it set in BIOS to 1.5V right? Well CPU-Z was jumping all around at that point and saying 1.55 - 1.6V ! Im very confused about this also.
