Hello, i was running stress test for my fx 6300 with prime95 for about 25 mins and it reached 65C. Everything was on stock, cooler is stock too. Wanted to check if i could do bit OC up to 3.7-3.8 until i get better cooler. Now im wondering if everything is ok, cuz if i would run stress for few hours i believe it would rise above 70C :/. Is those temperatures normal?

Solution
On a stock cooler yes those temps are normal.
You'll never see 100% 6 core loading under normal use so will never hit those temps in real life.
I wouldn't overclock at all on a stock cooler though.

Well i just wanted to know if those temperatures are normal for stock speed with stock cooling when doing stress test. I know stock coolers are bad, but still is 65C normal if stress test was doing only for short time period?

Why are so many people against overclocking on a stock cooler? I'm running my FX6300 at 4GHz on the stock cooler. Temperatures reach around 63C which is fine (I'm not going any higher though).

Personally I cannot be bothered getting a custom cooler. Why would I forego the extra 500MHz I can get by OC'ing on stock cooler?
