FX-6300 AM3+ Motherboard Options

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my PC's CPU to an FX-6300. The only problem is that I am currently using an A8-5500 APU on the FM2 socket, while the 6300 runs on AM3+. As a result, I need to buy a new motherboard too, and I made this thread to look for reccomendations of good AM3+ boards.

I am looking to spend less than $100 USD, but can go to $120 if necessary. I have an ATX case, so ATX or micro-ATX mobos will work. I have one 7870 GPU and don't think that I will be buying another to crossfire. Also, I will probably be over clocking the 6300 in the future, so I will need a board that supports that.

That is a nice board, but its easier to OC with the 990FX Chipset,

With its 8+2 phase power, it will overclock pretty much the same as a 990fx-ud3, especially with an FX 6300.

You have a point, actually, yeah go with the gigabyte board.
