FX-6300 on Asus m4a78lt-m

Hi, My friend just gave me this motherboard from Asus (asus m4a78lt-m), i already tested few basic things (it's fully works and everything). And my question is, i want some CPU on it and problem is, all Phenoms and Athlons is not for sale anywhere (i guess i could find something, but i have an idea). AMD Phenom II x6 1090T (cpu what has support on the motherboard) is really similar to amd fx-6300, only problems is socket, but it is compatible from what i already know, but what about bios version? Will asus m4a78lt-m support amd fx-6300?
My build is: motherboard: asus m4a78lt-m, gpu: GTX 750Ti, DDR3 8gb ram, so cpu is the last thing.

P.S. : And if fx-6300 is not compatible, what could be what's not on this list: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/M4A78LT-M.html ?

There's an extra 2 pins on the fx cpu's so it physically doesn't fit the socket.

Am3+ 940 pin boards are backwards compatible with older am2/am3 938 pin CPU's .
It does not work the other way round though.

You should be able to find a cheap phenom mate second hand surely ??

an x4 955 or 965 or any of the phenom x6 cpu's will do the job on the cheap
