i currently have a pc i built 2 years ago. it has an fx 6300 overclocked to 4.5 ghz stable, for 2 years. it runs a crossover 2560 x 1440 monitor. it has an xfx r9 280x in it. i am building a new computer for my kids, they will be using an lg 2560 x 1080 monitor. i have purchased a xfx r9 290x and an fx 8320. i already plan to have the 290x run the crossover monitor, and the 280x run the lg. my question is should i bother using the 8320 with the 290x? or being that the 6300 has been stable at 4.5 for 2 years just stick with that? its easier to just put in graphics cards than switch cpus especially after all the tweeking i had to do to get it stable at that speed. will there be a noticeable improvement over the 6300. also i would be overclocking the 8320 as well.

FX8320 is for you, kids will have to be satisfied with FX6300 until they can pay for themselves.
I would say, just give the kids your current rig using FX6300 and R9 280x and you take the new rig using FX8320 and R9 290x. This should save some work.
BTW: FX6300 and R9 280x is extremely overpowered for kids with casual gaming, unless they are playing games like you do.
