FX 6300 Overclock - Disable Cores?

Hey guys,
I have an FX 6300 currently overclocked to 4.4ghz. I use my computer mostly for gaming, and was wondering... In a game like Arma 3, not all cores are used. If I went into the bios and disabled two of the cores so that only four are running, could I bump up the overclock? In that case, less cores would be used so less heat would be generated, right? Would this work? Thoughts? Past experiences?

yes should work because more cores are causing heat should work but don't go crazy on the overclock
