I just installed a Hyper 212 EVO on my FX 6300 at stock speed. I just ran Prime95 for a hour; all tests passed and HWMonitor says the CPU temperature hovered around 28-31C.

Assassin's Creed Unity takes the CPU to around 41, 42C (with the original cooler it went to 59-60C)

I just want to make sure these temps are normal.

Solution
nice temps gotta love those hyper evo 212's pound for pound the best cooler air vs price 30$ i have one on my i7 4770k an my amd set up 8350 i love them
My thermal margin on AMD Overdrive is ranging from 45-58-ish at idle. HWMonitor doesn't often give proper measurements at idle (currently it is ranging from 12-24)

UPDATE:
Something really weird just happened. I put AMD Overdrive and HWMonitor on my second screen and started up ACU. My CPU went up to 129C then fell to 79C. I freaked out, turned off the game and uninstalled AMD Overdrive. I then restarted, put HWMonitor on my second monitor and played ACU on my primary (generally I disable the second monitor while gaming). I had near constant CPU temps of 30-35, with one or two spikes to 40. This is ridiculously cool, so I don't know what is going on...

So I currently have ACU running with CoreTemp on the second monitor (posting from phone). My temperature under load was originally in the low 30s, now it is in the mid 30s. It occasionally spikes to 40-44. Everything seems to be playing fine and even somewhat better than before.
