FX 6300 vs FX 8320

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a new pc for around 650-700 AUD and thought this would be a nice build:

Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card
CoolerMast​er N300Cen​tre Com M​id-Tower C​ase With 4​20W Power ​Supply
CPU: FX 6300 or FX 8320

I'm stuck on the cpu, I want one that is semi futureproof and wont slow down as programs become more demanding in the future.
Will the 8320 choice be a large difference for gaming/programming (I know it will be for multitasking)?

Also, If anyone has any ideas for changes in the build, please feel free to share them.

FX-8320 if you can afford it. Better yet, a 8320E delivers almost the same performance at stock while using less power, and can overclock using less voltage (and thus less power/heat and stress on the motherboard) than the non-E CPUs. I have mine at 4Ghz (same as 8350) using only 1.24V stable, on that same motherboard.

The FX-6300 is almost as good, but for multithreaded apps as well as some (not many) games, the 8320 is a winner.

As for changes, I'd be wary of that power supply. 420w won't cut it, especially a cheap built-in PSU. Try to get a good 80+ 550w or 600w power supply from Corsair or Seasonic.


Get the 8320, a lot more futureproof but if you could just spend a little more, I'd get the FX-8350.
