Hello fx 6300 vs fx 8350? Battlefield 1. I noticed that the minimum specs were released for battlefield 1 and they are saying the recommended cpu is the 6350. I currently have the 6300. Should I upgrade to the 8350 or just stay at the 6300?

I would stick with the FX 6300 for now. The difference between the two is not much. For sure the 8-cores will perform slightly better, but I would wait untill the game arrives to see if it is worth the upgrade. Also, it might be better to invest in better overclocking hardware and achieve better results with the fx 6300.

Your motherboard would not support an FX-8350 anyway. Your board's power delivery is only adequate for 95w CPUs, and the 8350 is a 125w chip, and would likely cause instability/crashing and may even have damaged your motherboard. Here's your board's CPU support list:

Given that your board only barely has adequate power delivery for a stock FX-6300, I would not recommend overclocking much. You might get away with increasing clockspeed 2-400mhz, but only if you can leave voltage alone or even drop voltage to compensate for the extra power draw from higher frequency.

My 2 cents:

Don't spend money on a dead platform.

Overclock as much as you can with what you have. Save money as you're going to be needing a new CPU, Motherboard, RAM, Windows (unless you have a retail copy), and other misc. costs. By then you can see if Zen fits the bill, or go Intel.
