Hi there,

I was wondering if I should upgrade my "gaming" system from a GTX 1050 Ti to a GTX 1660. Would this come with any bottlenecking, and if so, what CPU should I upgrade my system to first?

Specs:
AMD FX 6300 OC @ 4.2 GHz
ASUS Phoenix GTX 1050 TI 4Gb
2 x 8gb G.Skill DDR3 Memory @ 1600 MHz

You would want to do a processor upgrade first, which processor exactly depends on use and budget.
Something like an R5 and a new motherboard and RAM is typically a solid choice, or a midrange i5.
Awesome, thanks for your help. I will be sure to make this upgrade first!

Even r3 would work better. But remind urself this upgrade is costy. Mobo ram + cpu, id suggest ryzen with 8 threads or pick up any ryzen tbh on a b450. Person above is right. You wil even see improvement on you current card when you have a better processor. I know 2600 is the so called new sweet spot but that's only gamers perspective and totally not the truth. 1660 will not bottle neck other ryzens although going 4 threads wouldnt be my advicd either on this. Theres many cheap 1400_1500-1600-2400g with a cheap 80 ish 3k mhz 16gb ram on some asrock pro 4 or evenwise budget board and ur good to go, ryzen will amaze you.
