FX 6350/8320 or OC 965

Alright so I have a 965 in my rig right now, paired with 660 Ti. Just got BF3 and lets just say I might have hoped for a little to much. at 1680x1050 on High it rarely drops below 35. But me being use to 50fps+ it is almost unbearable at 30fps.

So here is the question. Should I buy a Hyper 212 and overclock my Phenom or buy a 6350 or 8320? Would the phenom beat a stock 6350? Or would the stock 6350/8320 give me the overall advantage? Thanks if you can help me!

I'd go with the 6/8 core FX BF3 will use basically anything you throw at it and it will definitely appreciate the 2/4 additional cores

Would you say the 965 is a bottleneck? It is only at stock right now (3.4), and when playing the game my GPU usage is right around 40-50%. Does this mean the CPU is bottle necking the capabilities of the GPU?

Your Phenom II was mighty in it's time...though it's falling a little behind now. Not that it wouldn't make some of that back up with an overclock. Though, you'd likely be better off down the road just upgrading your CPU now.

If your cpu is at 100% and your gpu is at 50 then yes it is a bottleneck
