I'm deciding whether to get the AMD FX-6300 or FX-8120. They are around the same price I know. I've heard that I should go for the 6300 because of it having the latest vishera chips, and the 8120 is Zambezi. But I also know that the 8120 is 8-core and the 6300 is 6-core. I'm looking to play pretty graphically intense games like BF4, livestream, video edit, and record gameplay. All answers are appreciated!

Go with the 6300. Most applications, games included, can't take advantage of anything higher than a 4-core. The difference between the 8120 and 6300 will be minimal, outside of benchmarking. The 6300 has a higher clock speed too. I'd buy a decent GPU: maybe a 7870, and the 6300. get a good cooler like the coolermaster hyper 212 evo which is the best cooler you'll get for the price by far. Then overclock the 6300. You'll be able to handle about any game.

I did hear that BF4 is very cpu intensive, and a very difficult game to run. perhaps it wasn't designed well, I'm not sure I haven't played it. I've heard of 8350s, upper end i5s and lower end i7s even having trouble with that game.
