FX 8150 temperatures bother me

Whenever I play my games such as Far Cry 4, Battlefield 4 and Watch Dogs my CPU temps are higher than I would like

They are 55-62(C). In the case of BF4 it gets to the point where the game lags and skips when the CPU hits 60 or higher.

I have an R9 280X Dual X OC Edition 3GB. I get 55-60FPS on all high in BF4

Here is an overview.

I have an AMD FX 8150 3.6GHz Black Edition

1) First year stock HSF worked great, something happened temps were suddenly 70-80C in BF4, PC shutting down.

2) New HSF (CM Hyper N520) new paste, arctic silver 5

3) Temps are still too high for my taste.

My temps idle in the mid to upper teens and fluctuate to the 20s. They go into the 30s if I open something heavy like Photoshop or steam and what not. That's all fine, but 55-60 while gaming?

I have a BIG open case with TWO count em TWO 200MM fans and a 120MM exhaust fan. My Push Pull on the Heat Sink Fan blows the air out of the back of the case.

Today I blew out the HSF with some air and it did knock some dust out and I guess I saw a 1-3(C) difference but it still hit 62(C) at one point. The safe zone for the FX 8150 is 61(C).

I know this is true because if I go over it the game lags. I should probably confess I did the X method when I replaced my paste: [This is before I put the HS on backwards and wasted that paste](http://puu.sh/dDbLB/f96759e764.png) I had to re-do it but forgot to take the picture because I was mad. The actual paste method was proportionally similar to this.

Is this a good method? Could it be my issue? Do I need to go Liquid? Do I need to go Intel? I know for a fact people have lower temps with this CPU, they have admitted it to me on here and in BF4.

whenever i build 8core amd systems i ALWAYS use liquid cooling. these days you can get pre assembled liquid cooling for under $100, all ready to go. you'll probably find the drop in fps is because the cpu is reducing its clock speed which therefore would lower fps. i personally think you should go with liquid cooling. or perhaps maybe low one of the settings in your games to bring it just below 61c.

I am not having FPS issues, I get 60 in BF4 because I have V-sync on. The temps are my issue and I may just have to go liquid.

"BF4 it gets to the point where the game lags and skips" sorry just assumed some kind of fps problem. first try and turn v sync off and see if that helps. i know i have a problem with v sync. i got a 6 core i6 liquid cooled. my whole pc cost me $3.8k in the end and it lags on gmod or other low/high end games with vsync on
