Hi i have an fx 8300 and atm i need only 1-2 cores max (youtube + several very old games like heroes 3 and warcraft 3). So is there any benefit from heat and energy consumation if i turn other cores off?

Whatever benefit you may get from a slight reduction in thermal output & energy consumption is going to be offset by the drop in performance.

Are you sure you're having heat issues, though? What temps are you currently getting at idle/on youtube/during gaming? At stock speeds, the stock cooler should easily keep you under 40C when idle, & 50-60C during gaming (those are the temps my FX-8320 gets, even in newer games like BF4).

If you're running a little hot, have you checked the airflow in your case, & do you have at least 2 case fans (front "pull", rear "push")? If not, at least make sure you have 2 case fans...& if your case can handle them, consider putting in as many case fans as your case will handle.

It uses cores only when needed. Disabling several cores won't change anything except lower performance when more cores would be beneficial.
