I have two monitors hooked up to my video card, 1 hardrive, my keyboard and mouse and a razer carcharias headset plugged into a usb audio card which is a really small one tho. i also noticed that my Hyper Transport speed is only at 2000 mhz when stock for this card is 2600
Check page 37 of the ASRock 970 Extreme3 user manual:
http://download.asrock.com/manual/970%20Extreme3.pdf on the bottom, section 2.16 Untied Overclocking Technology reads:
This motherboard supports Untied Overclocking Technology, which means during
overclocking, FSB enjoys better margin due to fixed PCI / PCIE buses.
Before you
enable Untied Overclocking function, please enter “Overclock Mode” option of UEFI
setup to set the selection from [Auto] to [Manual]. Therefore, CPU FSB is untied
during overclocking, but PCI / PCIE buses are in the fixed mode so that FSB can
operate under a more stable overclocking environment.
You said you noticed that your hyper transport is not at the correct speed. This could be because it is "tied" to the CPU clock. Make sure this setting is on manual before you set the CPU overclock.
