FX 8320 Overclocking

I am woundering if I would be able to overclock 8320 to 5.0 with the GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 with the DeepCool Captain 240 Liquid CPU Cooler.

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

For 5GHz you will need a lot of voltage, and that produce a lot of heat on AMD CPUs. The 1st thing that you need to know are the temps on idle and load in stock clocks, you can know that with CoreTemp.

Also, download CPU-Z that allows you monitor the frequency of your CPU. The next thing to do is know how works the frequency on your CPU (multiplier, Reference clock, RAM), you already know that right?
