FX-8320 Tjunction Temperature

Hi, my 8320 says a Tjunction max of 90C in coretemp yet most people say 70c just looking for input on this.

bump...no one has any input on this? I know AMD says 62c but why would my cpu tell me 90c?

use CPUID HWmonitor or speecy to read CPU temperature for AMD processor.

That is the temperature at which it will shut off automatically, not the max safe temperature. AMD says 62c to avoid lawsuits, as it's guaranteed it won't be damaged at that temperature, but you can push it to about 70c. At 90 it will shut off to avoid damage, but that does not mean you want it to ever get that high.

I use hwmonitor I don't let the core go over 60c and the package over 71c. I was just curious as to everyone's thoughts on the higher than what is considered the normal tjunction.

sorry package is the core so that i dont allow to go over 60c and the cpu(socket temp) go over 71

keep the packakeg under 62 and the cpu(socket) under 72 and all will be well at 90 (TJ) it will shut itself off to prevent damage dont be surprised if it happens much sooner.
