Hello!

1. Would a AMD FX-8320 Vishera 8 Core work on a GA-78LMT-S2P? If not, what motherboard would i need?

2. Does FX-8320 works well with GTX 970?

3. I'm actually using a FX-6100, would it be a great upgrade?

4. Should i get other processor instead of FX-8320? Note: I cant buy a i5 since i would need to buy a new motherboard and new ram, AMD is the way to go. I need help finding a processor that would be a great upgrade and that wouldnt make me spend much money.

5. Would it heat much more than my current CPU?

Solution
Low-end boards like this cause a lot of problems with 125W CPUs. It's not recommended. To really make an 8320 worthwhile, you'd have to buy a new motherboard anyway and even then, it's a difficult recommendation to upgrade *to* this platform in 2016.

As for your other question -- it's a bit difficult when you start multiple threads with nearly identical questions -- while a 125W CPU is a bad idea on a low-end motherboard, you can't even pretend to run a 220W CPU on that motherboard. To run a 9590, you'd need a new high-end motherboard, new power supply, high-end cooling just to make it usable, and that's before considering that the 9590 is arguably the worst consumer CPU release since the late Pentium 4s.

Although your MB officially supports AM3+. It does not fully support the higher TDP draw of higher than FX-8100.

It would not be a great upgrade from your current FX-6100. If you wanted the performance of FX-8350 or FX-9590, you would need Crosshair V Formula Z or Sabertooth r2 MB to handle the 220W TDP draw.

That motherboard lacks both heatsinks on the VRMs and good enough power phases to even think about running a FX 8320 on it or even low voltage FX 8320E.

Even the far better GA-78LMT-USB3 can have problems. Even a FX 6300 is pushing your luck on that board for a high-performance use like gaming. Gaming for computers is the equivalent to motorsport for cars, it's a high performance use and the system needs to be tough enough to handle it.

If gaming is what you are doing, then the FX8320 is only a bit better than the FX 6100 you have. Have you tried to overclock?

To run a FX 83xx, get the excellent budget Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P, it's a gem of a board and inexpensive.
