Case: Cooler Master K380 Midi Tower
Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 AMD 760G
Graphics: MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming Edition OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Cpu: AMD FX8350
CPU FAN: FX 8350 stock fan

The cpu seems to heat up really easily even whilst not gaming or doing much, as i am typing this, the cpu temperature is 50c.

Some people have said that it could be the motherboard ? others have said that the fx 8350 stock fan isnt good.

What do you think is wrong?

yes thats way too hot for idle. The stock cooler isn't great on those, but it should work well enough if the CPU isnt overclocked. Is the fan spinning up past 5000 rpm? It should get quite noisy when the CPU gets hot.

If the fan is spinning fast then it could be an issue with the thermal paste. I take it you used the stock paste that was already applied to the cooler? It's worth buying some thermal paste, cleaning all the stock stuff off and reapplying. If this doesnt lower the temps then you can look at other options.

I encountered this same issue and I have a way to solve it. The way I fixed it was to take a cotton swab and make it only a little bit damp with rubbing alcohol (99% works best) then clean ALL the pre applied thermal paste off the cooler and cpu, and apply your own thermal paste. That stock stuff is really bad. Also recommend getting a wraith cooler if you are doing air cooling.
