I've got a fx-8350. It's a custom computer and i didn't build it my self. A pc repair company did it for me.
Well... Ive been using this cpu for allmost a year now with the stock cooler.
everything is fine. It's still but. When my cpu cpu is idle the temperature is around 40c.
But I clean my pc once in a while and I have never really checked how hot my cpu should get when it's full load..
Now I see: 78c - 80c when full-load..

If i've been using my pc for like 1 year now with this temperature.. If the cpu was 80c for a year long. Isnt that critical for the cpu?

rig:
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
GPU: MSI R9 380 4gb
CPU: AMD FX-8350
CPU cooler: Stock
PSU: XFX PRO 650 watt XXX Edition
RAM: Kingston HyperX fb-dimm 2x4GB DDR3
HDD:Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500410AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5
The case had 3 other stock fans it. I got them when i bought the case

It is recommended that FX CPUs do not exceed 60 (62-65) degrees Celsius.

It does slowly damage the chip making the wearing out process faster but I don't think it's critical although it's definitely dangerous.

Your best bet is to get a new cooler for the FX; yours is an 8-core and is not recommended to keep under a stock cooler.

I just ordered Corsair H55 Liquid Cooler. Hope it will be better. If it's really good I will may overclock a bit 😀

Good choice! I hope it helps you out and that there would be some room for overclocking ;-)
