FX 8350 Avg. temp question

I have just recently installed an 8350 and I was wondering what were the recommended temperatures? It idles around 27-35 and while gaming it is almost always at 77-79. Is this normal? Thanks, ConnorJ177

They can throttle around 70 degrees and shut down , I keep mine below 62 degrees.

How can I fix this then? I am not using the stock cooler, I have a custom liquid-cooler build in.

Custom liquid should keep temps down are you overclocked?

Idle is decent though.

I have the same Black Edition processor and have never hit those temps, even when gaming and multitasking. It sounds like you need a good OS cleanup- updates, malware scan, junk file removal, etc. Your computer is probably maxed out trying to multitask while you game.

How much thermal paste do you have on?? More then a small pea size drop is too much on your water cooling do you have the fans pushing the air out of the case?? too much heat can cause high temps and cause your CPU to throttle back ..

Currently I have older paste from my last CPU (is that viable?) The paste covers the entire plate. Yes I have air coming in and out

Not overclocked, just worried as i'm hitting close to the max temp

Shouldn't be that high , I use Big Air and I'm not near that.

Custom Water should handle it easy.
