Solution
Spazzard- Humility is a great weapon :) it will go a long way in getting considerable help from people here.

Stan- equally important is objectively answering the question, "why" can often have some personal reasons which someone might not want to share.

since there is considerable time gap, between the 6790 and 8350, it is hard to find an exact review, however core i7 970 comes close to 8350: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/157?vs=697

and can shed some light on how much a bottleneck might be apparent : http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1585/3/

Spaz, I do not know about this site's reliability still it might just help: http://www.ultimatehardware.net/ati/asus_radeon_hd_7770_page2.htm

hope this help
good luck

Why would you upgrade from a 4100? when thats capable cpu? when you could of just put the money into a gpu. Also dont be rude People on here voluntary help.

And no. my friend bought a 6790 for around 80bucks thats why i ask that.
Even if the 6790 is 130 Doesnt matter. gpu should always cost more than your cpu. since gpu is more important for gaming. But no point in helping such rude kids. Have fun with your 6790 getting 30-40fps on games

1 dont lie, and 2 look up the price of the 6790 its a 120- 130 dollar gpu, just because ur friend got it for 80 bucks doesnt mean its an 80 dollar gpu LOLLLLL. nice try at answering a question you failed miserably. your parents should be supervisering you when you go on the internet hahaha anyone with a brain know how to answer this question?

I didnt try to answer anything. Whats there to answer? you have a low end gpu . that will get you 30-40fps on games? what else is there?

heres some 4100 benchmarks

4100 is a decent cpu and will do the job. as you can see from those benchmarks. why would i lie? Its your system. its your money that YOU spent. i have nothing to lie about. just stating some facts

Did you pay 130 for it?. thats a pretty bad deal could of spent 40-50 dollars more http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131473

A 4100+7850 Would stomp a 8350+6790. just simple facts or even better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161404

a 4100+7870 yum.

But hey Your system Your choice. im off to play games on my 7970 ghz Seeya

Its obviously bottlenecking, which u know, but im going to guess ur performance wont be any difference than the 4100 since all u added were more cores games dont use, unless the 4100 was at %100 usage. Basically ur gpu is capped and all u added was multitasking room.

Stant has a good point at a better gpu would of been better than a cpu upgrade. Getting the 8350 isnt a terrible choice, as u wont need a cpu upgrade any time soon, but recommend a 660gtx then get another to sli, which performs better than a 680gtx, or a single 7870/7950 later on.

Also its not smart to be rude to those trying to help, u ur self called it a crappy gpu, and u go off yelling at those who try helping u. Also now who doesnt get prices right? things go on sale and prices differ, like the $20-50 difference from fx to i5.

Your not going to receive much help at this rate.

LMAO this guy needs a lesson with processers. the 8350 has way better ipc then the 4100. games dont soley rely on single thread performance. floating point and other integers in the archictecture increase performance in video games. so per thread performance is about 7% better and seeing how games use 2-4 cores thats atleast a total of 15% in single thread performance while gaming. if op upgrades his gpu to a 7950 hes going to get alot more FPS out of his fx 8350. why does lazy even post on toms hardware he doesnt know anything. i think lazy boy has multiple accounts but either way hes not computer literate

thank you someone who actually has a brain and knows about pcs
