Hey guys. So about a month ago I decided to upgrade my CPU from an AMD Phenom 1100T to an FX 8350. I'm somewhat new at pc building/upgrading, and I saw the sockets were the same and figured it'd work.

At first it didn't, but after some research, I downloaded the beta BIOS(F5g) for my GA-870A-USB3 motherboard, the motherboard finally recognized the CPU. It was originally clocked at 2.8GHz. I had to manually overclock it to the standard clock of 4.0GHz.

Since then, everything has been running fine. Temperatures extremely low, gaming benchmarks show just a tiny bit of improvement, which I expected. But I was wondering, does having a Vishera processor in my 870 chipset mobo limit me at all? Besides the lack of power efficiency that the new chipset offers and better throttling(mine is either at 4GHz or 1.4GHz), am I getting anything less than I would be if I had a 970 chipset? Is my computer's lifespan shortened by this?

Here's my CPU-Z info.
