Hey there,
I'm new to the forum and pretty new on cpu overclocking. Today I decided to give it a go and oc my 8350. I followed a few guides here and there and eventually by following jayztwocents video on youtube I did a 4.4ghz oc at stock voltage of 1.38V. So all good up until there but as soon as I run prime95, temperatures climb up really high. The last one registered were 68 on socket and around 59/60 on the cores with only 5mins test!! So I'm a little concerned here. I have a sabertooth 990fx r2.0 mobo and a Be Quiet Pure Rock cpu cooler. My overclocking procedure is exactly the same as Jay's video. Could be my cpu cooler not powerful enough to handle those temps? Do I really need to run stress test for this kind of overclock? I played The Witcher 3 for an hour and half without having any problems or crashes. Is Jay's video a good guide? Thanks for your answers and help!
