FX-8350 Power Consumption

Hi There guys

i have the AMD FX-8350 installed in my computer and i know that people say that it uses alot of power when on idle or on load but i noticed something when i was playing BF3 on a 64 player match on Ultra Settings 1920x1080 (HD 7850 Windforce x2 OC Edition) and my CPU was at full power (4.0GHz) and while playing the game (i have ASUS M5A97 R2.0) the ASUS AI Suite was telling me that my CPU was only using 99.99 Watts and i was wondering if there is anyone out there that has a i5 3570k that can tell me how much power there CPU is using during a game like that??

And on idle it is telling me that it is using 10 watts or less and i was wondering if these power measurements were low or high

It could be that the Asus AI Suite cannot accurately read anything over 100w. Or it is not designed to read anything over that. If I am not mistaken, I believe the FX-8350 uses 70w when idling.

idk but it says that when it is set to power saving that it "underclocks and undervolts" the cpu to get to that power usage. At this moment the Vcore is 0.828 and the usage is at 8.85 watts

I think the Asus software is giving you erroneous readings. Even I really doubt a FX-8350 uses almost as little power as an Intel ULV (ultra low voltage) mobile CPU like the i5-3317U (use 17w) when idling. It also directly contracts a few professional reviews regarding the FX-8350 power consumption. Those reading you are getting tells me Asus' software is complete inaccurate and you should not even bother looking at them.

^100% Its a desktop . why choose power save options use high performance . the psu convert 230w to max specify in psu. if u use ups the electricity bill decrease 25%.

I think the mobo is give that problem need a bios update quickly as possible .
if amd fx 8350 less then 10w at idle all companies make a tablet with amd fx processor .

The BIOS is the latest and why its not in a laptop/tablet??? Because the temps are high without a good fan cooler of the stock one if it were put in a laptop the temps would be out of the roof
