I recently upgraded my motherboard and CPU to a gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 and an AMD FX-8360 ( You can see my full build below). The problem I'm having is that the CPU is running very hot. See the screen shot below for temp range. Any suggestions as to the cause and what I can do to correct this?
What kind of thermal paste did you use?
What CPU cooler do you have?
How many fans does your PC have?
What happens to the temperatures when you open up your case?

I used Arctic Silver 5 for the paste and I use a Cooler Master Seidon 120 for the CPU. I have 2 x 120mm case fans is the front and 2x 140mm at the top (plus the 120 at the back as part of the Seidon). If I take the case panels off there is a very slight drop in CPU temp, only like 2-3 degrees.
replace thermal paste and make sure you install cooler properly
Wasn't able to do this last night but I will attempt to replace the thermal paste and re-attach the cooler when I get home from work. Will post results.
Also, SR-71, thanks for recommending HWINFO. Gives much more detailed reports.
Was able to clean off my CPU and Cooler, re-apply thermal paste, and re-attach the cooler to the CPU. I am now getting much more stable temperatures. Thanks for the help!
