FX 8350 temperature at 14°C?

i just built my new pc 2 days ago, and its working great, i have had no issues.


the only thing that has caught my eye, is that my FX 8350's idle temperature is around 13°C-14°C. while under 100% load (via prime95) it was at 49°C. is this normal/safe?

i am using a cooler master hyper 212 evo and arctic silver 5 paste. i have not overclocked at all, all of my components are at stock speeds.

side note: i used CoreTemp to monitor my cpu temperatures. and my GPU is at 64°C while playing games.

Man, that's REALLY GOOD TEMPS!! Is your ambient temps like 60F or something?

I also use coretemp extensively, and the only time I get those temps is in the winter and I go in remotely to my computer. When I'm gone from my house, I don't leave the heater running.

not sure exactly, but i would guess the rooms temperature is like 70-75 degrees farenheit.

The idle temperatur is not right, the load temperature might be adequate.

I guess the temp sensor is faulty.

AMD FX series CPU's report the wrong core temperature due to the way it's calculated rather than a physical sensor, I suggest checking the CPU socket temperature using a program called SpeedFan. CPU socket temperatures will be lower than the temperature of the actually CPU cores so keep that in mind.
I get temp reading of 0c at boot and 7-14c during average use, but that's physically impossible because my room is 26c and my CPU socket temp is 28c
