So I recently have finished my first PC build and have now begun monitoring my PC performance at different times/stress loads.

I currently am using an AMD FX-8350 with an Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0

My question is about temperatures at certain points of use.
From everything I have read as long as you are under the maximum temperature it doesn't matter what temperature the cpu gets.

I understand that if I am under the maximum my cpu wont be totally damaged.

I was curious what temps should my cpu be for things like while at idle or, while playing new graphically demanding games (Example Far Cry 4 on high settings).

Being a new pc builder I mostly wanna know just so that if I look at my cpu at idle for example and see its above a certain temperature it should be a "red flag" that something isn't right.
Or while gaming what should my cpu temp range be to show my cooling system is working to its correct potential?

Solution
If it goes above 62 degrees Celsius at 100% then you have a problem. Try testing it with prime 95 and speedfan for monitoring temperatures. I hope it goes well but the stock fan for the 8350 is pretty bad so I wouldn't be surprised if it is overheating. Even if its not overheating I would recommend buying a better CPU cooler.
