Okay, so i got an amd fx-8350, and in games, after 5-10 mins in-game it throttlesdown to 1.2, and it just plain drops my fps by 90 percent. My mobo is an MSI 970 Gaming, im using a 650 watt psu and and r9 390, 8gb ram. Im using a watercooler, so i dont know if it's maybe the vrm. The cpu start throttling at like 60 degrees, so i honestly don't know..

Solution
Check your temperatures with AMD Overdrive, most other monitoring programs don't offer accurate readings because of how AMD's thermal sensors work. If AMD Overdrive shows your thermal margin at zero, then you have CPU temperature issues and you'll want to check the make sure the cooler is mounted properly, and that the pump is actually working.

VRM overheating shouldn't necessarily be a problem with your specific motherboard, but it might be an issue if you have some really poor airflow in your case.

This was a weird thing. Im gonna take a stress test, but acyually its pretty consistent with a fan over the vrm heat sink ill test a bit before i draw conclusions
