Which is better?

FX8350
8 Cores
4.0-4.2 GHz Turbo

FX8320
8 Cores
3.5-4.0 GHz Turbo

Which is better? The 8350 is $30 more. Do i need to spend $30 more for .5 GHz?

Also, is the FX 6300 or the FX 6350 enough?

Which is the BEST pc cpu with a reasonable price?

The 8320 is usually considered a better buy as you can easily overclock it to the same speed as the 8350. Do keep in mind that the 8 core FX CPUs practically require an aftermarket CPU cooler, and need a decent quality motherboard, preferably with 8+2 Phase VRMs that have coolers on them, so don't bother with any of the cheaper boards with the 760 or 780 chipsets.

What are you using this computer for? For a lot of use cases, and in most regions, it's getting to the point where Intel offers better performance and value, even in the lower price points. A current Core i3 will beat pretty much the entire AMD lineup in most games for example. If you're doing video editing and can't afford a Core i7, then the 8 core FX CPUs do make a bit more sense, but even then you could get a 4 core 8 threaded Intel CPU with the Xeon E3 1271 V3 at a price close to what you would spend getting an 8 core FX CPU, while offering better performance.

Oh. The 8 cores require all of that? Hmm. I might skip that. I want everything ready when I buy it. Thanks anyways! <3

Also, what motherboard chipset works with the 8 core CPU? Finally, what other CPU has the same performance as the FX 8350? And the FX 6300?

For 8 core FX CPUs you want to look for a board with a 970 or 990FX chipset. All the 990FX boards are fine, and most of the 970 boards are okay but a few of the cheaper 970 boards have weak VRMs, you have to watch out for that.

As for equivalents, that depends on the workload, AMD CPUS have more cores than Intel chips at a similar price point, but the AMD cores are much slower than Intels individually so for tasks that don't scale across many cores, AMD CPUs are at a disadvantage. If you're gaming, a Core i3 which is a dual core with hyperthreading (Windows sees it as a quad core) is better than even the FX 8350 in 9 out of 10 games. If you're doing video editing and encoding which can scale across 8 cores, then the FX 6300 will beat the i3, and the FX 8350 can slightly edge out the i5 (which is a quad core CPU with no hyperthreading), but will lose out to an Intel quad core with hyperthreading (seen by Windows as 8 cores) eg. Xeon E3 1271 V3 or any Core i7.

My advice as always, the only difference between all the FX 8 cores is literally the CPU Frequency. All these CPU's have unlocked multipliers so it really doesn't matter. Word of advice, I'd always pick an FX 8 core over any locked i5.

So I will be gaming AND probably live stream/record. Will the AMD CPUs work like a charm? So Windows if I will be playing normally, but AMD if I will be gaming and recording?

So the AMD cpus that I listed should be better when I record compared to the i3? Also, which is better. FX 6350 vs i3 4170? Does the i3 work good?

For gaming the Fx-6300 is more than enough for most games, if you decide to go with the 8 core CPU then get the 8320 and for the motherboard I think the GA-970A-UD3P will do the job it has 8+2 phase so it's awesome for the 8 cores FX CPU, the price is nice too 90$ in NewEgg.

FX-6350 vs I3-4170 Well for gaming it depends on the game but for most part they perform similarly, FX has more advantage with its 6 cores so it's useful for other things like video editing etc, on the other hand you'll get a better upgrade options if you go with the I3.

The Intel i3 has better single threaded performance. But when the FX CPU's are overclocked, their single threaded performance increases and their multi-threaded performance can wipe the floor with an i3 😉

The i3 is better at just gaming but will likely get a bit bogged down if you want to record and livestream gameplay at the same time due to its low core count. If your only two options are the FX 6350 or i3 4170, I'd take the FX if you are doing a lot of livestreaming, it's gaming performance is okay, but it will hold you back in CPU heavy games that rely heavily on single threaded performance, eg. MMOs.

The i3-4170 and the FX6350 are quite competitive to each other. The i3 has better single core performance and hyperthreading, while the FX6350 has more cores, and better multicore performance.

In pure games, the i3 has the advantage, while in gaming plus recording, the FX6350 would be favored.

In certain online games, especially games like BF4, thE FX 6300 overclocked would do better. If you plan on running the system with a high end graphics card I suggest you skip the i3 for now. If you are hell bent on an Intel CPU, look towards and unlocked i5.
