FX 8350 vs i5 3570k - Overclocking - Gaming PC

My current predicament is that i'm looking to build a new PC, and I'm down to the CPU. Without a bias opinion (please no fanboyism), would a FX 8350 @ 5ghz, beat out a i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz? I understand it will in multithreaded applications/games, but what about most games? How big of a difference will the FPS hit be?

It won't.

There won't be any noticeable difference between the two.

The only difference you will get is in skyrim because that loves intel chips.

The FX will kick out HUGE amount of heat at 5ghz. I hope you have the cooling for it

It also will draw as much power as it can take so expect 150w or upwards.

get the i5 based on heat, power and noise alone, thats without i5 matching or beating the 8350 in benchmarks (yes in benchmarks), although like everyone says you shouldnt notice a difference. same speed, half the power and similar price = no brainer
