actually the xeon e-1660 V2 cpu will perform better than the I5 and the Ryzen 1600 and better than the I7-7700K so.. yeah it also speeds past the i5-2500 and I7-4790K so it a good cpu indeed...its up there.... and according to PassMark benchmarks it neck in neck with Ryzen 1700 not the 1500
Of those the Xeons are much better, but a ryzen 5 1600 should be similar to the xeons and better than them once overclocked. The ryzen is much newer also.
Should be better than the i5, because most new games can use more than just 4 cores and 4 threads now. The xeons should perform similarly to a stock r5 1600.

For my price range, I have two cpu s: the fx 8370 or the e5-1660. Which is better for gaming and video editing and 3d rendering? Thanks!
Edit: or e5-1650 v2
I know this is a month too late but here is my 2 cents!!
I have to agree. with Paladin. I have an e5-1660 v2 which is a 6 core 3.7ghz w/ 4.0ghz turbo 6 core 12 thread cpu. It is AMAZING.... I tested it against my 7700k (stock speed) and the results were very similar and I paid $170 for the cpu. The xeon e5-1620 V2 is good too. It's just a 4 core version of the e5-1660 v2 but plays great too for around $85
