I'm planning to build a budget PC for my younger brother. Being on a very tight budget, I'm split between these two processors.

I was thinking of going with the Ryzen 3 3200G instead of the FX-8370, but the FX-8370 has a 8 core & 8 thread configuration vs the Ryzen's 4 core 4 thread.

Which is a better choice for gaming? Please don't recommend any other CPUs as that's not a possibility.

Solution
Don't spend a dime on FX. To run that FX-8370 you will need better than an average motherboard, likely a 990fx
as well as a good cooler.

The FX-8370 has a passmark rating of 6078 when all 8 threads are fully loaded.
The single thread rating is 1623. single thread performance is most important to the gamer.

The ryzen 3300g option is much better. Despite only 4 threads, the total rating is higher at 7259.
The more important single thread rating is 2206.

The Ryzen, no question.
It completely crushes anything from the FX line.
