Does anyone know if a 9370 will run OK without a water system? I am dead set AGAINST putting water in a system where it can leak onto electronics!! It creates fire, and I know first hand!!! Will this processor run on an Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 with superior air cooling such as a Dark Rock 3?

You don't think that the high end air system come close to water? Have you seen what happens when water comes in contact with live electronics? Trust me, you'll be looking for a fire extinguisher, or will be calling the local FD. IT IS NOT a good mix..

Push the FX-6300 harder. You won't see much improvement over a FX6 using a FX8 or FX9, whatsoever. In this case, it would be nothing but waste of money for you. You have a good motherboard, and a good cooler, there's nothing stopping you from (almost) reaching the same performance of the 8 core CPU's. I wouldn't call 3.9 GHz an overclock, I managed to get 4.3 GHz on stock voltage on mine.

Are you using same hardware as me, more or less? Asus and FX-6300? If so, would you mind telling me parameters to set in BIOS to get there OK? I am using 2133 MHz memory, which is kind of a waste from what I hear, but BIOS says it is clocking it at 1070 MHz, so I am guessing that is 2140 in the ddr2 world :)

No need to touch the RAM settings. Well, I used a FX-6300 paired with M5A97 LE R2.0. It's not built for overclocking, but I made it work using a fan blowing down ontop of the VRM/mosfet. I can't go any higher, because the voltage jump required is too high for mine personally. I just increased the voltage by 0.006250, it even says so in the BIOS as the lowest increment I believe. If I run into a bluescreen, the voltage is too low, so I repeat. If I pass I increase the multiplier by 0.5 and run the stress test again all the way until the voltage is too low, then I increase the voltage. It's a fairly long process but there are plenty of guides out there, as there are a few settings I don't remember by heart that you should/have to disable before you begin. :)
