My FX 6300 CPU has been proving to run hot on its stock cooler. Its usually always around 50-60 C

I do have a Phenom II stock cooler and I was thinking It would cool better because it has heat pipes and a bigger heatsink.

Would it?

It sounds like you have one of the better AMD OEM heatsinks (the ones with heat pipes). If so, it will cool better than the "single block of aluminum" AMD OEM heatsinks. The fan may be a little louder though, but the difference should be minimal.

I recommend you do the switch. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick answer! It does seem obvious, but I've only been a builder for about 4 months so I'm not entirely sure about everthing 😉
