I wonder if anyone can help me please?

I am upgrading the graphics card in my computer and have been told to purchase an XFX 128Mb FX5900XT. Whilst I'm sure this is agreat card all the reviews about it tell you how good it performs when playing various computer games.

I am not a game freak myself and want a new card because I do a lot of DTP and photo editing work,is this the card for me?

Any comments/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Regards
Duncan

You cant do a mistake buying such a card - however, for what u do a cheaper
card like the FX5700/5800 line will be sufficient as well. Just make very
sure u don't get sold a 64-bit bus card. On the other hand u did not tell
your system specs - maybe your system is already the true bottleneck?

FX 5900XT 128MB & Leadtek A350 XT, GF FX 5900XT, 128MB, TV out, DVI.These
two cards ROCK in every aspect(even the price).

If you're not buying the FX5900XT to play games it's probably a waste of
money. There are any number of inexpensive graphics cards that will meet
your 2D requirements. Just buy a quality brand name (Leaktek, MSI, etc.)
which supports the resolutions and refresh rates you want to use with
your monitor. You can easily find a card such as this for under $100.
